Rafet El Roman was born on August 25th, 1968 in Edirne. When his parents moved to Germany in 1970, he lived with his grandmother at Omerbey, Uzunkopru until he was 7. After he finished first grade at primary school at Omerbey, he moved to his parents in Germany. He completed the rest of his education in Germany.

He started writing his first lyrics at the age of 16. Rafet El Roman sensed that his greatest ambition of his life was music. He invested everything he had to music.

He started his first stage performance in 1988. In 1992, he was elected as "The Best of the Year" by Saarlaendischer Rundfunk Radio. In 1994, he was awarded with Media Artist Award in Frankfurt Cultural Festival. In 1995, he came to Turkey and released his first solo album. The album "The Tears of the Youth" sold over one million copies.

In 1997, he released the second album "Have The Most Beautiful Days". In 1998, he released his first solo album in Europe. The same year, he acted in the film "Propaganda" with the megastars of Turkish Film History such as Kemal Sunal and Metin Akpinar.

In 1999, he caught a big success with his third album "Sorrowful Life".

In 2000, Rafet El Roman vocalized the song "One More Goal" for the national soccer team with Mehmet Ali Erbil in Euro 2000 Championship. In the same year, he was the leading actor in the film "Short Flirts in Narrow Field" with co-star Mujde Ar.

In 2001, with his own lyrics and song, he made duet with Askin Nur Yengi "I am in the pursuit of you".

In 2001, he released the fourth album "Lonicera".

In 2002, he released the fifth album "Love Number 5".

In the summer of 2004, he released the sixth album "Exile". This album was the bestseller of the year and with many hit songs.

In 2005, he released the seventh album "The Sultan of My Heart" in the honor of 10th year of his success. The album hit the top sale in the first release. He was awarded with "Golden Butterfly" by Muyap, and "The Most Successful Pop Singer of the Year" by Popsav.

Rafet El Roman seeks new talents for the music market with his music production company RER that was established in 2000. His further greatest desire is to be the scenarist and director of his own film.

In 2006, he released the album "Pain of the Hearth".
